About Beyond Blackboards

Our Mission

Beyond Blackboards is committed to improving the emotional and physical health of the student population, and to supporting academic institutions in addressing important health issues, especially eating disorders. Our initial focus is on helping reduce risk factors for eating disorders, improving body satisfaction and self-esteem, and promoting healthy weight management.

To meet our goals, Beyond Blackboards will broadly disseminate innovative, internet-based educational interventions through desktop or laptop computers accessible from school or home.

Our first three programs target eating disorders:

Collegiate Student Bodies: targets college women

High School Student Bodies: targets females in grades 9–12 (under development/study)

Middle School Student Bodies: targets 8th grade girls (under development/study)

The Student Bodies© program is licensed for delivery from Stanford University to Beyond Blackboards, Inc. Other components are in development and we hope to have a program for boys in the near future.
